Job summary

A Chef manages the kitchen and is ultimately responsible for the execution of work and the quality of the kitchen. He is ultimately responsible for preparing, cooking, and passing on dishes and/or parts of dishes and for performing general services in the kitchen. 

Main areas of tasks and responsibilities:

  • Makes department plans and execute personnel policy
  • Create work schedules
  • Monitors the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the department
  • Monitors the culinary and gastronomic level of the kitchen
  • Perform menu engineering
  • Training and guiding new employees
  • Prepare and finish dishes and components
  • Perform daily maintenance in the kitchen

Your qualifications:

  • Self-employed Cooks Training Level 3 and/or 10 years work experience
  • Hospitality education
  • You have at least a higher professional education (HBO) working and thinking level
  • Knowledgeable in the field of business, hygiene, safety, environmental care, quality and HACCP
  • Knowledgeable of organoleptic recognition of the flavor profile of prepared dishes
  • Knowledgeable of organoleptic recognition of wine taste profile
  • You can multitask and set priorities
  • Financial administration and registration
  • Cost price and calculations
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing
  • You can plan and organize
  • You are able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • You are stress resistant
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate internationally
