For the first time the Miss India Suriname
Pageant will be held in Suriname in the Royal Ball
Room of Torarica on Saturday, October 28, 2006.
This event is being organized by SurIndia Glamour located in
Suriname and starts at 19:30 hrs. The winner of the
pageant gets the official title ‘Miss India Suriname’
and has the honor to represent Suriname at the Miss India
Worldwide Pageant. The Miss India Suriname Pageant is an
annual international registered and acknowledged event,
through which the Indian culture, alone or integrated with
other cultures, is expressed. The Surinamese-Indian woman is
offered better possibilities for development on both
national and international level. Because of this the
pageant also contributes to the development of role models
in the Surinamese society. All contestants get a training,
in which all segments of the program are cared for by
Surinamese professionals with international experience.
The different parts of the show are
standardized, but also the criteria for selection are
internationally fixed. The show will be attended by a number
of prestigious foreign guests, like the present Miss India
Worldwide, Trina Chakravarty and the present Miss India
Holland, Celina Kalfane. The show includes the following
rounds: a presentation round, Indo-western round, talent
round, Sari round, question round and announcement.
