As per November 2006 the airline company Martinair will
start their commercial flights, twice a week, between
Paramaribo and Amsterdam. The first special VIP-flight will
be on Sunday, October 29, 2006. The flight on Sundays will
be non-stop while the flights on Tuesdays have a stopover on
the Caribbean Island Tobago. With this new player on the
market Martinair meets to demand to provide more capacity
for a reasonable price. According to the spokesman of
Martinair, Erik van Doeselaar, flights can be booked via the
website
www.martinair.nl or travel agents. Passengers to and
from Suriname will now have more options. Besides sales
through internet and travel agents, a large part of the
capacity will be sold to tour operators who help promote
Suriname as a holiday destination. |
