The largest travel & tour organization from Europe “World of TUI” came to their new destination Suriname from 17-19 October, 2005. Tour operator Sun & Forest Tours is the local partner of TUI and organized this trip. A group of 15 sales agents came to get familiar with the tourism product Suriname for selling purposes in the Netherlands. They visited the highlight in the city and the interior, the hotels and restaurants and enjoyed the friendliness and pureness of the Surinamese people and their culture. This cooperation is a positive boost for the tourism sector in Suriname and will stimulate the growth. In the winter guide 2005/2006 of TUI Holland International 20 pages are dedicated to Suriname, which is an exception for new destinations. TUI expects a more intensive collaboration within 5 years with the private and public sector.
