CHN University, an International Hospitality Management school from the Netherlands, and Torarica Hotel & Casino started an educational co-operation. 14 students from the CHN University and 7 students from Torarica’s hospitality training program “Kweekvijver” joined together for seven weeks to follow the module “Problem Based Learning” from 24 March – 29 April 2004. Four teachers from the Netherlands came to Suriname to give lectures about various subjects. The group exchanged knowledge and experience but also learned a lot about culture differences and working together as a team. It was a very successful co-operation, which ended with a professional presentation for Torarica Management and other important companies in the hospitality business.
