From March 6 – 10, 2006 Suriname will be hosting the International Literature Festival with poems, prose and oral literature on stage, outdoors, at school and through the media.

This year the Holi Phagwa Festival will be celebrated in Suriname on the 15th of March 2006. This ancient Hindu festival has been celebrated in India for many centuries.

The popular Dutch Cabaretier Seth Gaaikema performed in the sold out Banquet Hall of Torarica on the 4th of February 2006. His show “Als ‘t effe kan” contained social Dutch topics but also Surinamese subjects were presented in a satirical and humoristic way.
